Walk to heel canine workshop

Canine Recall workshop

Understanding your dogs behaviour and communication

Learn more about your dogs senses and how it interacts in its environment. Top secrets tips on creating a stronger bond with your dog. This fun, friendly workshop is aimed at anybody who either has a dog, is thinking of getting a dog, or has a passion for learning, or has interests in dogs. No dogs are required to be in attendance for this course.

Introduction to Dog Grooming – Sunday 7th November 9:30am – 5:00pm
This course has been designed for the owner of a pet dog who would like to learn about the care and grooming of their animal.
The curse is run by a current qualified and experienced dog grooming tutor and a qualified and experienced dog groomer. Although the programme does not intend to give you the skills required to set up business as a canine beautician and does NOT lead to a qualification, it does provide a sound basis from which to commence training for that field.
The course will be tailored to the needs of the students attending and the types of dogs they own.
Topics will include parasites, signs and treatments, health and disease recognition and prevention, first aid for ears, teeth and eyes and includes demonstrations & practicals in grooming, bathing and drying. Brushing styles, How to avoid/get rid of matts and other common grooming problems.

Canine Handstripping course – Date: Sunday 31st October 2010 9:30am – 5:00pm
Using clippers on a handstrip coat can ruin a dogs coat. Handstripping a coat ensures the correct coarse texture and improves the skin and coat quality. This practical workshop will enable the pet owner to save money on their grooming, by doing it themselves in the correct manner and is also ideal for the dog groomer to further their skills and bring more money into their salon by extending their skills.
Introductory price: Course cost only £45.00. This includes demonstrations of how to handstrip, education on how to keep your dogs coat in tip top condition.

Understanding Canine Aggression – Date: Sunday 21st November 2010 9:30am – 5:00pm
Aggression in dogs is not only dangerous but can be very scary for a pet owner.
This course will enable you to recognise the signs and the different types of aggression that dogs display.
Helping to pin point the cause of aggression will help to treat the problem. The course will cover causes of aggression and the links to learning theory.
Health issues, safety awareness, how to deal with dogs in an aggressive display.
